Is this actually free? What's the catch?

The design and build of your website is completely free — we never charge for that. The only cost is a once-off R1,600 covering your first year of hosting, domain registration, SSL, and business email — the real third-party costs every website needs to go live. There's no hidden invoice beyond that.

Why would a web design company give away free websites?

It's a deliberate model, not charity marketing. Building great work for small businesses builds our reputation and portfolio, and a meaningful share of clients return later for paid upgrades or ongoing Care Plans. We also don't mark up the R1,600 hosting fee — it covers the actual cost of keeping your site online.

Will you ever ask me to pay after the site is live?

The design is free, permanently — we'll never charge you for that. Before launch, you'll cover a once-off R1,600 for your first year of hosting and domain, explained upfront on our Pricing page. Beyond that, any further upgrades or Care Plans are always optional.

Who is eligible to apply?

We work with registered and informal small businesses trading in South Africa that don't currently have a professional website, or whose current site badly needs a rebuild. We prioritise genuine local businesses over agencies, resellers, and franchise head offices.

How do I apply?

Head to our Apply page and complete the short multi-step application — it takes about five minutes. We'll ask about your business, your goals for a website, and how to reach you.

What happens if my application isn't accepted?

We review every application personally and, if we can't accept you into the free programme right now, we'll tell you why and, where possible, suggest next steps or invite you to reapply once circumstances change.

How long does the review process take?

How long does it take to get my website built?

Most websites go from kick-off to live within 2–4 weeks, depending on how quickly we receive your content and feedback during review rounds.

Will I have input into the design?

Absolutely. You'll be paired with a dedicated designer, see draft versions of your site, and have structured rounds to request changes before we consider anything final.

What's included in my free website?

A custom-designed, mobile-optimised site of up to 5 pages, copywriting support, a working contact form, and basic on-page SEO. Taking your finished site live does require a once-off R1,600 for hosting and your domain — see our Pricing page for exactly what that covers.

Do you build online stores?

Basic product showcases are included in the free tier. Full e-commerce with online payments is available as a paid add-on — see our Pricing page for details.

Question 12

Can I request changes to my website after launch?

Yes — just contact our team with what you'd like updated. Small tweaks may be covered during your support window, and larger requests are handled as an affordable paid upgrade or through one of our monthly Care Plans.

What if I need bigger changes later?

For bigger requests — new pages, a redesign, or added functionality — we offer affordable paid upgrades. Existing clients also get priority turnaround on paid work.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes. Your once-off R1,600 hosting fee covers your first 12 months, including basic support. After that, you can renew hosting and your domain, or join one of our optional monthly Care Plans for continued updates and monitoring.

Can I use my own domain name, like a .co.za?

Yes. If you already own a domain, we can connect it as part of your hosting setup. If you don't have one yet, domain registration for your first year is included in the once-off R1,600 hosting fee — not a separate add-on.

Is my business information kept private?

Which parts of South Africa do you serve?

We work with small businesses across all nine provinces. Our process is entirely remote, so your location doesn't limit your access to the programme.
